Help on Sunday Nights
The Children’s ministry on Sunday nights has grown, and we now need three classes: Preschool (potty trained-rising Kindergarteners), lower elementary (K- 2nd), and upper elementary (3rd-5th). To make this happen, we require four more volunteers willing to be teachers for these age groups. The commitment will be on a 3-week rotation, meaning volunteers will only be required once or twice a month. Additionally, we are also looking for individuals who can help with the student ministry for a 7-week period while JR is teaching the marriage class. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact JR or Jennifer. Thank you for considering and volunteering your time. We can not do this without you!

Sunday Night Youth Group
The Sunday night youth group will resume on September 8th with a new schedule. The evening will begin with optional hangout time from 4:30-5:00 PM, where attendees can enjoy games and socializing. From 5:00 – 6:00 PM, the group will break out into age-specific activities or discussions. Finally, from 6:00 – 6:30 PM, everyone will come together for a meal. This new schedule aims to provide a mix of fun, fellowship, and meaningful Biblical discoveries for all attendees. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Youth Choir (Preschool – 12th grade)
The Christmas youth choir is open to all ages from Preschool to 12th grade. Practice will begin this Wednesday, September 11th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with rehearsals scheduled for every Wednesday after that. The program will include details for each grade level. If you were unable to attend the orientation last week, please see Jennifer for information and the music CD.

Race of Faith
Shady Grove Church is holding it’s 10th annual RACE OF FAITH 5K and 1 – mile Fun Run/Walk. The race event will be held on September 14th at 4359 Middle Road, Kinston, NC (GPS – Trenton, NC). Check – in times are 8:00 – 8:30 AM and race starts at 9:00 AM. The RACE OF FAITH is to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis and to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. EPIC Center Open House
The EPIC Center, Kinston is hosting an open house on Friday, September 27th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. The center is located at 304 N. Queen St. Join them to tour the newly remodeled center, meet the dedicated staff, and learn how you can engage with their life-affirming ministry. Light refreshments will be provided. Please see flyer on the information board in the hallway.

Cookbooks Available!
The Women of Faith are selling cookbooks for $15 each. These would make a great gift for the upcoming holiday season. Please make any checks out to Women of Faith.

Bible History Classes LCPS
The Association of Congregations has recently taken on the responsibility of fundraising for the three Bible classes taught at Kinston High, South Lenoir, and North Lenoir High Schools. Funding has been exhausted, and the classes are at risk of being removed from the curriculum. If you’re interested in investing in this ministry opportunity, pick up an info flyer in the church’s Main Hall.
